                           HOMEWORK

We will be spending the next few weeks researching animals to become an animal expert.  Then, we will be writing our own “All About” books to show what we have learned.

The students have all picked their animal, and are bringing home a

letter requesting your help. Please help them research and find 3 facts about their animal. They also need to practice reading their 3 facts at home, so they can share them at school.

Some examples are

  1. What do they eat?

  2. What do they do?

  3. What do they like?

  4. Where do they live?

  5. How do they look?

Facts need to be returned by Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

On Friday, October 29th we will be having PJ day.  (We ask that no Halloween costumes be worn.) We will also be participating in some Halloween themed activities.  I will be bringing in some treats for the class.  If you do wish to send in some treats, please remember we have  16 kids in our classroom & the treats need to be store bought and/or in a package.

Thank you and if you have any questions please contact me.

We had some special visitors today, and we were amazing listeners!  Thank you to the Orrington Fire Department!  Ask your student what they learned about fire safety.🚒

                                                       Happy October🍂

Here are a few important dates for the month...

*October 8th no school - teacher inservice day

**October 11th no school -Holiday

***October 15th - book orders are due (I have been told by Scholastic that

the September order is running late, but should be here shortly)

****October 26th  - School Photo Day

I am sending home the list of the sight words that we will be focusing on during the

first trimester.  You can practice these words with your child - make flash cards,

make a memory game with them, look for them as you read together, build them

with letters, write them with chalk, or be creative and have fun with these words.

In math, we are working on fluently adding and subtracting within 10.

We have practiced many different strategies, and we are rocking this.

Any additional practice at home would be awesome!
