This is a class reward!!!  Students may bring a beach towel to relax and read on. They may wear summer attire (no bathing suits). Please have your child wear appropriate, seasonal clothing over his/her summer wardrobe due to the fact we will still be going out for recess and in case he/she gets a little chilly in class!

As a part of our beach themed day, we will join in on some educational beach activities, for example math games and reading at the beach.

Thank you so much for your support. Hopefully we can bring a little more sunshine to Orrington, Maine!🌞

                       Field Trip πŸŒ‘πŸŒ™πŸŒž⭐

Our class, along with Ms Gray's first grade, will be learning about the solar system.  We will study the sun, the moon, and the planets.  We will listen to songs, read books, watch short videos, and complete several projects.  We have had fun being scientists.

As an enrichment activity to this science unit we will be going to the Emera Astronomy Center & Jordan Planetarium at the University of Maine.  The trip is scheduled for Friday the 18th.  We will be leaving the school at 8:30 to reach the university for a 9:15 show.  We will be returning to school by 11:00. (in time for lunch at school) Unfortunately, we are unable to bring chaperones. I am sure your child will be so excited to share all about the Magic Treehouse Space show with you when they get home.

The cost of the show is being covered by the PTG….a big thank you to them!
