weekend?

Reading Read to or with someone for 15 minutes

‘The Listening Walk’


Writing
Stop and listen for a few minutes. Write down all of the sounds you can hear.
Then count how many different sounds you could  hear. 

Math 
Play a game called try for a 10

Lay 20 cards face up. Leave out the face cards or you can assign them a value.
Try to remove cards by adding the numbers to make a sum of 10.  Every time you
remove cards put some new ones down. How many tens did you make?

Fun Time
Make your own character. Be sure to label each body part they use for each
of the 5 senses.

Use these shapes. You can use each one more than once o create a geometry picture. 
You could make an animal, a city, or anything you can think of. Name the shapes

Fun Time
Salt Painting  touch when dry

1 Trace or draw a picture on paper.

2 Trace your picture with glue (liquid glue works best)
3 Add salt to top of glue and gently shake off excess salt.
4 Tap gently with watercolors, paint, or gel food coloring.
5 Let dry.๐Ÿ–Œ๐Ÿ–Œ

Ask for your parents' help.

Nose knows best. Get a variety of spices and fun things to smell. Put a blind fold
on and see if you can guess the smell. You can do this with taste, touch and
sound for more fun!

Find an object in your room. Now use your 5 senses to describe it. Write your sentences
down.

Measurement 
With an adult’s help get measuring cups and water.

Use the cups and see how many of each it takes to fill your favorite bowl or drinking cup.

Fun Time
Drawing without looking…..
Come up with some easy objects like a tree, a smiley face, a snowman, and a house. 
Be Creative!  Now close your eyes (no peeking) and try to draw these objects.

Hi There,

I hope you are all enjoying learning about our great state of Maine.

Today is Thankful Thursday.  What is one thing you are thankful for and why?

It will be another great day today.  Be sure to get outside and enjoy it. If you have
sidewalk chalk write some numbers all over your driveway, and have an adult
 give you math facts that total those numbers. You must find the sum or difference
 and run to that number. If you don't have chalk...you can also write the numbers on
 pieces of paper and put them down in your driveway or lawn. Try reading  outside.
