April 15, 2020

Hello First Grade Friends,

Today is Warm-hearted Wednesday.  What is one random act of kindness you can
do today?  💓

I was so happy to see many of you yesterday!  I hope you enjoyed seeing
your friends, too.

Today is the 15th.....what are some ways you can make 15 using coins?
How many different ways did you do?

Science- 🚢
Sink/Float Experiments!
Fill the sink with water.
Find 5 things that sink and 5 things that float!

Draw pictures of each of your sink and float items.
Did any of your results surprise you?

Reading Be sure to read to or with someone for 15 minutes

Listen to the book
“I can Save the Earth”

Writing
Draw a picture and write about something you could do if you lost your power or had
a blackout. We should all have some experience with this.

Math
Watch the BrainPop Jr video on More/Less

Play more or less
Turn 2 cards over and see which card is more, which card is less, or see if they equal.
(You could make your own greater than. less than, or equal to cards....like the ones we
have at school) EXAMPLE 7>4

To make this more challenging flip 4 cards and make 2 two digit numbers
EXAMPLE 49<62

Fun Time
Go around your home and collect things you can recycle or reuse
(plastic bottles, cardboard, paper) and try to make an animal or create your own
invention.
**I am so anxious to see pictures or to hear about these from "trash to
treasure" projects. Please share with me or post them right in comments on blog post.

Today is PE day go check out Mr. Reed's blog.......Stay active🏃

Have fun learning today and be sure to be good listeners to your parents!
Love, Mrs. Lausier💜
